Click to Dial Privacy Policy

Effective: May 1, 2026

This notice describes how the Voipcom Click-to-Dial Chrome extension and its supporting backend (the “Service”) collect, use, and protect data. It supplements the general Voipcom Privacy Policy and applies specifically to the browser extension.

What we collect

When you use the extension, we receive:

  • Your Voipcom (NetSapiens) credentials — your username and password, entered in the extension’s sign-in screen. These are transmitted directly to a Voipcom-operated authentication endpoint over TLS and are not stored anywhere after the initial token exchange.
  • An access token issued by NetSapiens after sign-in, used to authorize calls on your behalf.
  • A session identifier that links your browser to your access token. This is stored in two places: in your browser’s local extension storage (persists across browser restarts until you sign out or uninstall the extension), and on Voipcom’s servers in encrypted edge storage (expires automatically after 30 days of inactivity or when you sign out, whichever comes first).
  • Phone numbers you choose to dial through the extension (right-click selection, popup entry, or tel: link clicks).
  • Dial events — the destination number, the time of the request, whether the call was successfully placed, and any error message.
  • Network metadata — your IP address and standard HTTP headers, used by Voipcom’s edge to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.

We do not collect: your browsing history, the content of pages you visit, keystrokes outside the extension’s own input fields, your contacts, or any data not directly required to place a call.

How we use it

Data collected by the extension is used solely to:

  1. Authenticate you against your Voipcom (NetSapiens) account.
  2. Place calls you have explicitly requested.
  3. Maintain an internal audit record of dials for security, troubleshooting, and compliance.
  4. Apply rate limits to prevent abuse.

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, training machine-learning models, building user profiles for unrelated purposes, or any use beyond providing the click-to-dial functionality.

Where it’s sent

  • The extension communicates only with a Voipcom-operated Cloudflare Worker, which in turn talks only to the Voipcom NetSapiens API. No third-party analytics, telemetry, or advertising services are used.
  • Data is processed at Cloudflare’s global edge network and within Voipcom’s NetSapiens infrastructure.

How long we keep it

  • Credentials: never stored after the token exchange.
  • Session identifiers: up to 30 days, then automatically purged.
  • Dial audit records: retained for 12 months, then deleted.
  • Account termination: If your Voipcom service account is closed or terminated, all dial audit records and session identifiers associated with your account will be deleted within 90 days of termination. You may request immediate deletion by contacting support@voipcom.network.

You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Contact below).

What we don’t do (Limited Use)

The Service complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer user data to third parties; we do not use it for advertising; we do not allow humans to read it except (a) with your explicit consent, (b) where required for security or legal reasons, or (c) where data has been aggregated and anonymized.

Permissions the extension uses

The extension requests the following permissions, and only for the stated purpose:

  • Access phone number links on websites you visit (<all_urls> host permission) — required solely to detect tel: links and right-click selections on pages where you choose to dial a number. The extension does not read, store, or transmit any page content. It does not monitor your browsing activity, track which sites you visit, or modify any page beyond highlighting detected phone numbers for dialing. No page data is ever sent to Voipcom’s servers.
  • Right-click menu (contextMenus) — required to add the “Dial …” item to your right-click menu.
  • Storage — required to keep you signed in across the popup and background script during your browsing session.

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of any sale of personal information. Voipcom does not sell or share personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. The personal information we collect through the Click-to-Dial extension is limited to what is described in this notice and is used solely to provide the service. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@voipcom.network or 480-571-4454.

Your choices

  • Sign out at any time using the extension popup; this clears your local session immediately.
  • Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data.
  • Contact us to request deletion of server-side audit records associated with your account.
