eFax for business: secure, paperless faxing
Healthcare, legal, and insurance still run on fax. Voipcom eFax (cloud faxing) moves it to email and app: send and receive from anywhere, keep an audit trail, and retire the machine in the corner.
How it works
From first call to fully handled
No rip-and-replace projects. We meet your stack where it is.
Port
Your existing fax numbers move to us, the numbers your referral partners and carriers already have on file never change.
Route
Inbound faxes arrive as PDFs in the right shared or private inboxes; sending works from email, app, or portal.
Retire the machine
The analog line, toner, and maintenance contract all go away. The audit trail gets better, not worse.
Why it matters
The fax machine is a liability, the fax workflow is not
Paper faxes sit in trays where anyone can read them, get lost between departments, and leave no audit trail. For a medical or legal office, that is a compliance incident waiting to happen.
Cloud fax keeps the workflow your industry requires and fixes the delivery: documents arrive as PDFs in the right inbox, transmissions are encrypted and logged, and sending is as easy as an email attachment.

What is eFax, and how does it work?
eFax (electronic fax, sometimes written e-fax) is faxing carried over the internet instead of an analog phone line and a physical machine. To send, you attach a document to an email addressed to the recipient’s fax number — or upload it in the portal — and Voipcom converts and delivers it. Inbound faxes arrive as searchable PDFs in the inbox you choose, with a delivery confirmation either way.
For regulated offices, eFax is how you keep the fax workflow your partners require while closing the compliance gaps a machine creates: transmissions are encrypted, access is controlled, and every page is logged. You keep your existing fax numbers, and there’s no hardware, toner, or analog line to maintain.

FAQ
Common questions
What is eFax? +
eFax — short for electronic fax — is faxing without a fax machine. Documents are sent and received digitally over the internet: you fax from an email or app, and inbound faxes arrive as PDFs in the right inbox. You keep your existing fax numbers and gain encryption, audit trails, and access from anywhere.
Can we keep our fax number? +
Yes, we port it. Referral sources, pharmacies, and carriers keep using the number they already know.
Is cloud fax okay for HIPAA? +
Yes, when configured properly: encrypted transmission, access-controlled delivery, and retained transmission logs. That configuration is the service.
How do we send a fax without a machine? +
Attach the document to an email addressed to the recipient’s fax number, or send from the portal. You get a delivery confirmation either way.
What about high-volume faxing? +
Bulk sending and dedicated numbers are available for offices where fax is still the main artery, common in healthcare and insurance.
