The right cloud, not just any cloud
The server closet is reaching end of life and the answer is usually the cloud, but which one, for what, at what cost? Voipcom plans, migrates, and manages cloud environments sized for real businesses, not enterprise vanity architecture.
How it works
From first call to fully handled
No rip-and-replace projects. We meet your stack where it is.
Inventory & model
Every server, app, and dependency gets mapped, with a costed destination for each: SharePoint, vendor cloud, or hosted infrastructure.
Migrate in stages
Files, mail, identities, then apps, each tested before cutover, each with a rollback. No big-bang weekends.
Run and tune
Monitoring, backup, and quarterly cost reviews keep the cloud bill honest and the environment healthy.
Why it matters
Cloud done badly just moves your problems and raises the rent
Lift-and-shift without a plan produces the worst of both worlds: cloud bills that climb monthly and the same fragility you had on-prem. Meanwhile aging servers tick toward a failure that takes the business with them.
We start from workloads, not slogans: files to SharePoint, apps to the vendor cloud or hosted infrastructure, identity to Entra, backups everywhere. Costs are modeled before migration, security is baked in, and management afterward is part of the deal.
Planned
workload-by-workload, costs modeled
Secured
identity, MFA, and backup by default
Hybrid OK
cloud where it fits, local where it must
Managed

What is cloud migration for a small business?
Cloud migration is the process of moving a business’s data, email, applications, and servers off hardware you own and into services you rent and reach over the internet. For a small business it rarely means one dramatic switch. It means deciding, piece by piece, what belongs in Microsoft 365, what belongs on hosted infrastructure, and what genuinely needs to stay in the office. Done right, the day-to-day experience for your team changes very little, while the things that used to keep an owner up at night, a dying server or a single point of failure, quietly stop being your problem.
For the Phoenix and Denver businesses Voipcom works with, a migration is a managed project with an owner, not a download you run over a weekend. We document what you have, agree on where each workload should land and what it should cost, then move things in stages with a way back if something surprises us. The goal is not to be in the cloud for its own sake; it is to leave you with an environment that is more secure, easier to support, and predictable to budget, run by the same local team that handles your phones and IT.
Inside the service
Your cloud, migrated and managed
We move your files, mail, and apps to the right cloud workload by workload, then run it for you: identity locked down with MFA, backups tested, and the monthly bill modeled so nothing creeps. You see exactly what moved and what it costs.
- Workloads migrated, then tested
- MFA & conditional access enforced
- Backups verified, restores tested

The difference
Aging servers vs planned cloud
Why partner with Voipcom
Cloud with accountability
- One partner owns the outcome, not three vendors pointing at each other
- Costs modeled up front, reviewed quarterly
- Phones, IT, and cloud designed as one system
- Local engineers for the on-site parts every migration has
FAQ
Common questions
Does everything have to move to the cloud? +
No. Hybrid is normal, some line-of-business apps or local hardware (label printers, lab equipment) stay on-prem, and we design for that instead of pretending otherwise.
How do you keep cloud costs from creeping? +
Costs are modeled per workload before migration and reviewed quarterly after. The most common surprise we prevent is paying for resources nobody turned off.
What happens to our old servers? +
They run in parallel until cutover is verified, then get decommissioned and wiped, with the data lifecycle documented for your records.
How long does a migration take? +
Files and mail typically move in weeks; full app migrations depend on the vendors involved. The assessment gives you a real timeline before anything starts.
